January Company-Wide Teacher of the Month

What an exciting start to the new year here at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse! We are so fortunate to be starting 2015 with four new schools and so many amazing educators! We had many talented teachers nominated by their Program Directors this month, and had a tough time choosing our winner! January’s nominees were:

Congratulations all; the love and dedication you have towards your students, families and schools is undeniable. Thank you for all of your hard work! With that being said, we would like to introduce you to our January Company-Wide Teacher of the Month, Mandy Johnson, from Southlake, Texas!

Program Director, Grace Fannin, had the following to say about Mandy, “Mandy has been a huge asset to our team in Southlake! From day one, she bonded well with not only the kiddos, but with the staff and parents as well. She is always on time, and willing to jump in wherever she is needed. If she is not in the classroom, she is constantly asking what she can do to help around the school. We are excited to have her on our team, she always has a smile on her face!”

Mandy began her career in childcare at a young age, working with children of all ages in her church’s nursery. It was that experience that peaked her passion for children and watching them learn and grow.

Though the Southlake school has only been open a short time, the relationships and love between teachers and kiddos is abundantly clear. Mandy loves that about her workplace and that all of the teachers and management team possess such heart and compassion for what they do.

Mandy is a school-wide specialty teacher, which means she gets to be in and out of every classroom throughout the day. Having the chance to interact with all ages and get to know all of the students in the school makes her days even brighter.

Mandy’s favorite curriculum project they have done thus far is a Puff Paint Polar Bear art project they did in the EPS classroom during our Discovering the Arctic curriculum theme!

Outside of work, Mandy enjoys spending time with her daughter and playing soccer, listening to music, dancing with her husband and having family days at the park with their puppy, JD!
