Welcome to Little Sunshine's Playhouse & Preschool®
Our preschools offer a safe, secure & nurturing environment through our Distinctive Services and Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum, Creatively Shine®. Everything we do is designed to inspire a love of learning, imagination, and curiosity through play.
Little Sunshine’s is like a second home to our little one. I could not be more thankful that she loves going to school every day to see her teachers and friends. It is obvious how much she is learning - she surprised my husband and I by counting to 10 in Spanish all by herself one day!"
What Makes Little Sunshine’s Playhouse & Preschool® so Special?

At Little Sunshine’s Playhouse & Preschool®, we are committed to providing you the highest quality of communication, security, and innovative conveniences through our Distinctive Services so you can take comfort in knowing your child is in the very best care.
Our Proprietary Reggio Emilia-Inspired Curriculum
Our Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum, Creatively Shine®, is based on the latest research and trends to prepare your children for their educational careers, equipping them with cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language skills. At Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool® we believe a child’s work is play. We teach your children age-appropriate lessons, manners, and social skills all through creative and purposeful play. We believe children who enjoy learning at a young age will carry it with them throughout their lives. Each month we have original projects, provide each classroom with new materials that reflect the monthly theme and provide related activities to support the individual concepts of the “whole child.”

New Resources for Parents
Have a Rainforest scavenger hunt by hiding various toy animals or animal pictures around the house, then give your children a scavenger hunt clues sheet to help them know what animals to look for.
Our Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum, Creatively Shine™, consists of fun, engaging monthly themes like “Spectacular Space” and “Creepy Crawlies.”
The theme for March is Rainforest and Desert Enrichment.
One of the great parts about the Reggio Emilia Philosophy is that many of its principles and methods weave in and around one another. They link together to create a really unified idea of how to interact and educate the next generation of kids.
The Teacher of the Month award is designed to recognize an employee that exemplifies our core values, which are compassion, humility, integrity, loyalty and discipline. This month we are pleased to announce that our 2021 January National Teacher of the Month is Ms. Nikayla of Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Springfield, MO at Chestnut.
If you’ve ever met a toddler, you may have noticed that they have some of the highest confidence levels out there. At two years old, they are the fastest, can jump the highest, and know all their numbers and letters. None of it is true but try convincing them of that.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the word “quarantine” was only seen in dystopian movies and history books. But now, it’s as common in our vocabulary as “social distancing” or “the store was out of toilet paper.” Fifty years from now, parents who raised children during 2020 will get shivers up and down their spine at the mention of the word.
