September National Teacher of the Month

Our teachers across the county are truly game-changers. They are dedicated, passionate and truly know how to engage each of their students every day.

The process of choosing just one teacher each month is beyond difficult, but we are pleased to announce that our 2019 September National Teacher of the Month is Dawn E. Nelson Stovall of Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of San Antonio, TX at Stone Oak!

Ms. Dawn has been with us since Stone Oak opened in 2018. She loves working with her students! She is not only a wonderful teacher but she’s a doula. How cool is that! Ms. Dawn makes everyone in the building laugh every minute of the day. We love Ms. Dawn and we are so thankful to have her on the Stone Oak team!

What do you love most about the age group you teach?
They are so easy going, and they all have their own personalities that shine each day.

What is your favorite curriculum project you’ve ever done in your classroom?
The Pumpkin Patch

What do you enjoy most about working for LSP?
The family environment we have every day. I truly consider all my coworkers a part of my family!

Who and/or what inspires you?
My mom because she has always encouraged her children to never give up and that we can do anything we want in this world!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love spending time with the people who are most important to me.

Tell us one special fact about yourself that no one would expect.
I visit the maternity ward at our local hospital and pass out handmade cookies that I bake
