Each month we have original projects, provide each classroom with new materials that reflect the monthly theme and provide related activities to support the individual concepts of the “whole child.”
Our Leadership Team
Hello! My name is Shalena, and it is my pleasure to be the Program Director at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Alpharetta. I have been working in Early Childhood Education for 21 years. Throughout my time in ECE, I have been a classroom assistant as well as a lead teacher as well as a music teacher. For the past few years, I have been working in child care management training and leading teachers to be their best every day.
A little bit about me, I was born and raised right here in Alpharetta GA. I graduated from Milton High School. I have my Associates Degree in Information Technology as well as my CDA (Child Development Associate) Certification. I currently still live in Alpharetta with my family. I am blessed to have an amazing 14-year-old son who currently attends Milton High School. AJ keeps me and his dad super busy taking him to baseball and basketball games. In my free time, I love to sing and take dance classes at the gym as well as boxing classes with my family.
I love working with children and seeing the amazing things that they can do and create. I love their innocence and curiosity and their pure love for people and fun. I look forward to getting to know each child and their families as I do my best to be an example of great leadership and a smiling face each day.
Hello, my name is Carolyn and I am thrilled to be your Assistant Director at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse & Preschool® of Alpharetta.
I loved my time as Program Director for LSP Ozark, and I’m so excited to transfer to Alpharetta and continue my journey with such an amazing company! I am a Ball State University alumni with a degree in Elementary Education. I have always loved working with children and started teaching in different forms at an early age. Although I headed in to business after college, my passion has always been early childhood education. I love bringing art, music and creativity into the classroom to help teach mindfulness and self-confidence. I look forward to building meaningful relationships with all of our students and families. My goal is to continue to foster a nurturing environment with each family here at Little Sunshine’s.
On a more personal note, I am a proud mama of two young children. My son is currently attending Little Sunshine’s Playhouse & Preschool, and my daughter is in public school. We love exploring all over the country. We are all excited to get acquainted with Georgia and its southern charm!
What our LSP Families are Saying
We have loved the attention our daughter receives from the moment she walks in every day until she heads home. Each day is structured with learning, free play and includes Spanish daily, cooking class with their onsite chef and sports class on the regular. Our daughter no doubt is reaping the benefit of such great all around education and learning development.
I cannot recommend Little Sunshine's Playhouse & Preschool enough and certainly promote it to other parents looking in the area for top notch childcare.
