Our Leadership Team
Hello! My name is Kristy and I am the co-director of Little Sunshine Playhouse and Preschool® in Overland Park.
In May 2009, I graduated from Tennessee Technological University earning a degree in elementary education. While obtaining my degree, I concentrated on both the academics related to early childhood development and organizations, which commit themselves to fostering early learning.
Shortly after graduation my husband and I relocated to the Northern Virginia area, from Knoxville, TN. I began my career with LLE Group, first as a classroom teacher, assistant director and then program director. We have recently relocated to Kansas and I am very excited to start our new journey.
The tender years prior to kindergarten are very important in a child’s life, and I look forward to working with you to promote a productive academic and social setting for students of all ages. I believe in fostering strong relationships with both students and parents.
I’m very excited to begin my journey with you and your children at Little Sunshine Playhouse and Preschool.
Hello, My name is Rachel LaPlante and it is my pleasure to be a part of the dynamic leadership team at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool® in Overland Park. I am a proud Kansas Citian and love calling this unique and diverse place home. My wonderful husband Josh and I have two children; Avery and our son Morgan. We love spending time together, attending sporting events, exploring new restaurants, and especially traveling to new places.
I have over 10 years of experience in the early childhood education and hold a degree in child and family studies. I have spent my time working my way up the ladder, educating myself along the way. Starting as an assistant teacher, on to lead teacher, assistant director and then director. Educating, empowering and caring for young children was where I found my passion and I consider it a privilege to serve our families. I pride myself on my ability to create a culture of community among teaching staff and with families. Open and honest communication is key to this and we recognize the enormous responsibility we have in partnering with you on your child’s early childhood education journey – it all starts here.
I hope to meet you and your growing family soon!
