Rochette founded Little Sunshine’s Playhouse in 1998 with a clear purpose: to create a preschool that offered families more than basic childcare, one rooted in quality, intention, and trust. A Summa Cum Laude graduate with a double degree in Early Childhood Education, Rochette combined academic excellence with a deep respect for children as capable, curious learners.

Influenced by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, she believed early childhood education should be joyful, thoughtfully designed, and responsive to each child. That belief became the foundation of Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and continues to guide its approach today.

From the beginning, Rochette held herself to one uncompromising standard: Would I trust this school with my own children?

That question shaped every decision, from curriculum and classroom design to family communication and safety systems. Rochette personally developed and trademarked tools like Kiddie Cams™ and LuvNotes™ to strengthen transparency and connection between schools and families.

She also created Creatively Shine™, Little Sunshine’s Playhouse’s proprietary, Reggio Emilia–inspired curriculum. Designed as a 24-month rotating program, it uses intentional themes and hands-on exploration to nurture curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

Rochette’s commitment was deeply personal. As both a founder and a mother, she experienced Little Sunshine’s Playhouse firsthand through her family, strengthening her belief in the values at the heart of the school.

What began as a single, home-based program has grown into a nationally recognized early childhood education organization serving families in communities across the country. Throughout its growth, Rochette has remained closely involved, ensuring each location reflects the same values, standards, and care that defined the original school.

Her leadership and innovation have been recognized through numerous honors, including multiple Inc. 5000 rankings, Entrepreneur Magazine’s Franchise 500, and long-standing Best of Category awards. Still, Rochette measures success not by accolades, but by the trust families place in Little Sunshine’s Playhouse every day.
