Reggio Emilia-Inspired Preschool & Child Care in Leawood, KS
Little Sunshine’s Playhouse & Preschool® of Leawood is owned an operated by Brad and Kristin Dahler. We opened our castle doors in 2012 and were the first Little Sunshine’s Playhouse in the Kansas City metro. The school is located in Leawood right down the road from the cross section of 151st street and Nall Ave.
Our all-inclusive, private preschool program provides educational child care to children ages 6 weeks through pre-kindergarten in Johnson County and Leawood community.
In order to cater to your family’s unique child care needs, we offer a variety of schedule options, which are M-F, MWF and Tues./Thurs. Our monthly tuition rates include: formula, wipes, baby food, breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, and extracurricular activities.
Our Leadership Team
Hi, my name is Jodi and I am the program director for Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool® of Leawood. I have been back in Kansas City for a few years and am very thrilled to be back in the Midwest.
We raised our children here and I graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in early childhood education and have many years of experience in the childcare industry. Childcare is my passion and I love to be part of watching and helping your children learn and grow!
On a more personal note, I just celebrated my 33rd wedding anniversary to a wonderful man and have two amazing children that I am very proud of! My daughter has been married for 2 years now and lives in NJ and works in NY. The best news is she and her husband are moving to Chicago this fall, which brings them closer to us! My son is getting married next Fall to an amazing young lady. I enjoy spending as much time as possible with family, as well as reading a good book, watching movies, attending farmers markets, going to any beach and attending Royals or Chiefs games and events!
I love being a part of this amazing school and look forward to experiencing my days with you and your wonderful children.
Assistant Program director
Hi! My name is Ashton and I’m the assistant director at the Leawood location.
I began my journey with Little Sunshine’s Playhouse in July of 2013 as a preschool teacher. I have since worked my way from an assistant teacher, lead teacher, head teacher, curriculum coordinator, and now assistant director. I am thrilled to be able to continue my journey with such an amazing company.
One of the things I enjoy most about working in early childhood education is getting to watch the children learn new things and how excited it makes them when they accomplish it. I also love building a family-like relationship between myself, the children, and their families so LSP has been the perfect fit.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and my two adorable dogs. I also enjoy reading suspense novels and photography.

At Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool® we believe that a child’s work is play. We teach children age-appropriate lessons, manners, and social skills all through creative and purposeful play. We believe that if children enjoy learning at a young age it will carry with them throughout their lives.
Each month we have original projects, provide each classroom with new materials that reflect the monthly theme and provide related activities to support the individual concepts of the “whole child.”
