July National Teacher of the Month

Our teachers across the county are truly game-changers. They are dedicated, passionate and truly know how to engage each of their students every day.

The process of choosing just one teacher each month is beyond difficult, but we are pleased to announce that our 2019 July National Teacher of the Month is Heather Hackney of Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Granite Bay, CA!

Ms. Heather has always been one of our MVP teachers, but over the last couple of months she has stepped up in a huge way. She has recently taken on the role of a teacher mentorship, and we are seeing classrooms transformed. We appreciate her hard work so much! Her can-do attitude and willingness to help makes her such a great role model for teachers. We could not be prouder to have her on our team.

Here is some fun information about her and what makes her such a standout!

What age group do you teach?

What is the name of your classroom?
I am the head teacher, so my time is about focusing on all the classrooms. Also, providing teacher support across the entire school.

What do you love most about the age group you teach?
I enjoy working with children of all ages. I get very excited as I watch them grow up and transition from one classroom to another.

What is your favorite curriculum project you’ve ever done in your classroom?
Creating daily schedules and routines for each classroom is my jam! I love creating them, working with the teachers to implement them and then supporting the staff and students along the way!

What do you enjoy most about working for LSP?
I love being able to contribute to the daily lives of both children and teachers. Supporting others is what I love to do.

Who and/or what inspires you?
Working as a team inspires me to do more. When I see what I implement working it makes me happy.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love spending time with my children, going to the gym and hanging out with friends.
