February 2024 National Teacher of the Month

The Teacher of the Month award is designed to recognize an employee that exemplifies our core values, which are compassion, humility, integrity, loyalty, and discipline. This month we are pleased to announce that our 2024 February National Teacher of the Month is Ms. Tatianna of Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Creve Coeur.

In talking about how Ms. Tatianna exemplifies LSP’s core values, Assistant Director, Ms. Carol said, “Miss Tati is an exceptional teacher. She isMs. Tati, February 2024 National Teacher of the Month wonderful with the kiddos in her care and this shines through her everyday interactions with them. She is committed to the success of each student in her care. She takes the time to ensure her class is having fun while learning and puts a big focus on Reggio Emilia. Tati is also wonderful with communication with the parents. She is always communicating with the parents during pick up time about their child’s day and makes sure to tell them something special. Our parents have all said how happy they are that Tati is their child’s teacher. The children all love her, and it shows in the way they interact in the classroom that she has built their trust. She has created a calming and fun learning atmosphere in her classroom.”

What age group do you teach?
I teach in the threes and fours classroom.

I love that every day is an adventure and everyday isn’t the same. I love how much fun we have in the classroom while learning and all the music and movement we do!

What is your favorite curriculum project you’ve ever done in your classroom?
Camping outside and going on a bear hunt. Everyone had so much fun!

What do you enjoy most about working for LSP?
The kids smiling faces and the bonds I make with each of my students because they are all different.

What made you want to become an early childhood educator?
Growing up I’ve always loved kids. I knew I wanted to work with kids, but I didn’t know what age group.

Who and/or what inspires you?
Family members and teachers I’ve had growing up. They have been such a big part of why I became a teacher!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love to go on walks in the park, go fishing with my boyfriend, going to the zoo, shopping, getting my nails done, making different crafts (or finish an old craft that’s not done yet), and trying new restaurants.
