Preschool for Elkhorn North Families
Little Sunshine’s Playhouse & Preschool® is now open in Omaha, Nebraska. Our Elkhorn North preschool is located at the corner of 180th and Maple, right in front of the newly-announced Fleet Farm, and across the street from Elkhorn North High School.
Our all-inclusive, private preschool program provides educational child care to children ages 6 weeks through pre-kindergarten in north Elkhorn and the greater Omaha communities.
In order to cater to your family’s unique child care needs, we offer a variety of schedule options, which are M-F, MWF and Tues./Thurs. Our monthly tuition rates include: baby food, wipes, breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, and extracurricular activities.
We are thrilled to announce that we are also opening a new preschool in Elkhorn South in the second half of 2024.

At Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool® we believe that a child’s work is play. We teach children age-appropriate lessons, manners, and social skills all through creative and purposeful play. We believe that if children enjoy learning at a young age it will carry with them throughout their lives!
Each month we have original projects, provide each classroom with new materials that reflect the monthly theme and provide related activities to support the individual concepts of the “whole child.”

Program Director
Hello! My name is Allison, and I am excited to be your Program Director at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Elkhorn North.
I earned my Child Development Associate Credential in 2018. I love learning about Early Childhood Development and am currently working toward my Associates in Early Childhood Education. I also plan to get my Bachelor’s in Child Development. I have worked in child care for over 15 years, starting as an assistant teacher and working my way up to director.
There is nothing I love more than seeing the look on a child’s face after they have learned something new about their world. Children are our future, and it is our job as early childhood educators to help foster strong foundations for each child’s future success.
I grew up in a military family, which took us all over the world. However, Nebraska will always be home to me. I love experiencing all the seasons, sometimes in a single week! I have four beautiful children, all boys. As a family we love to camp and travel to new places. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, cooking, and baking. I also love anything outdoors and binge-watching reality TV. I personally believe there is nothing life can throw at me that coffee and chocolate can’t fix!

Assistant Director
Hello! My name is Amanda, and I’m happy to serve the families of Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Elkhorn North, NE as the Assistant Director.
I am currently obtaining my Child Development Associate credential. I have worked with children of all ages for 14 years. I started my educational career as a teacher’s assistant in the infant room, then moved to lead teacher in the pre-k classroom, and from there was promoted to Assistant Director, and I’ve loved every step of the way! Working in child care is one of the most rewarding careers. Seeing the joy on each child’s face when they have learned something new is priceless!
On a personal note, I was born in California and moved to Nebraska at eight. My husband and I have three kids, one boy, and two girls and they keep us on the go! In my free time, I love to spend time with my family, read books, and binge-watch some of my favorite TV shows.
Educational Child Care Programs
Infant Program (6 weeks – 1 year)
Our highly trained infant teachers partner with you to ensure your baby’s developmental needs are met every step along the way. Our nursery staff create predictable routines and nurturing classroom environments that foster social and emotional development in your baby.
Our toddler classrooms are designed to encourage purposeful play where our teachers guide your child through age-appropriate learning experiences that prepare them with the knowledge they need to be confident as they grow.
Early Preschool Program (2-3 years)
Your child’s preschool teacher and our classroom create a nurturing, home-like classroom environment where your toddler is treated as a capable individual, whose opinions, actions and thoughts are respected and valued.
We design our preschool classrooms with developmental milestones in mind and equip each classroom with age-appropriate, educational toys to help continue inspiring your preschoolers curiosity and desire to learn and engage with their classmates and their environment.
It is our mission to prepare your child for a successful year in the wonderful world of kindergarten. Our skilled pre-K teachers help build essential skills by carefully crafting engaging activities that balance instructed learning and purposeful play.

We have loved sending our kids here from the very first day! My one year old loves going here and they take amazing care of him. You can tell the teachers in his room really care about him. They give us frequent updates and have excellent communication. I have another son in the pre k room and he loves it here. They keep them engaged while helping him prepare for Kindergartner as well. His teachers are so good with the kids and care about my son and how he’s progressing. The food is fresh and the front staff are so helpful.
