September 2025 National Teacher of the Month
The Teacher of the Month award is our way of celebrating educators who live out our core values—compassion, humility, integrity, loyalty, and discipline—each and every day. We’re excited to announce that our 2025 September National Teacher of the Month is Ms. Lynn from Little Sunshine’s Playhouse of Chestnut.
The leadership team at Chestnut had such kind words to share about Ms. Lynn, saying: “We are thrilled to celebrate Miss Lynn as our September Teacher of the Month! Over the past month, Miss Lynn has shown incredible growth in her classroom, bringing energy, creativity, and heart into everything she does. Her lesson plans are not only fun and engaging but also inspired by the children’s own interests-she truly listens to what excites them and runs with it!
Her sweet, kind, and caring nature shines through each day, creating a warm and loving space where her students can thrive. We are so grateful to have Miss Lynn on our team and can’t wait to see how she continues to inspire and nurture her classroom.”
What age group do you teach?
I teach four year olds!
What is the name of your classroom?
My classroom is called Secret Garden.
What do you love most about the age group you teach?
I love how much the kiddos’ personalities come out as they learn all the things they love to do, and how much they come alive when they get excited to do new things.
What is your favorite curriculum project you’ve ever done in your classroom?
I love that each month, we have a party day full of activities based on the Creatively Shine theme that month. We did glow day one Friday where the kiddos got to experience different science experiments, sensory bin activities, and art all about colors that glow. We also did an apple day where they played different games with apples, an apple volcano, apple painting, and apple taste testing that included voting and making a chart.
What do you enjoy most about working at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse?
My favorite thing about working at LSP is building relationships with the kiddos in my class and with my co-workers.
What made you want to become an early childhood educator?
Every time I reflect on this question, I’m reminded of the children who may not always feel loved or safe at home. My goal is to ensure that every child who walks through my classroom door feels both safe and deeply cared for every day—and that I can be part of creating that sense of love and security for them.
Who and/or what inspires you and why?
100% the kids! They inspire me to be a better teacher, be more caring, and be more child-like!
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy having movie days with my cats at home. I also enjoy camping and being outdoors.
Tell us one special fact about yourself that no one would expect.
I have aphantasia. This is the inability to have a visual imagination.
We’d also like to extend congratulations to all of this month’s nominees listed below. Thank you for your continued passion and dedication. You are all a vital part of our Little Sunshine’s family!
