May 2025 National Teacher of the Month

The Teacher of the Month award is our way of celebrating educators who live out our core values—compassion, humility, integrity, loyalty, and discipline—each and every day. For May, we’re excited to announce that our 2025 May National Teacher of the Month is Ms. Ashley from Little Sunshine’s Playhouse of Franklin.

Ms. Ashley is our spectacular Teacher of the Month for May 2025!

The leadership team at Franklin had such kind words to share about Ms. Ashley, saying: We are delighted to celebrate Ms. Ashley as our Teacher of the Month! With nearly two years of dedicated service as a co-lead in Pre-K, she now has embraced the role of Lead Teacher in our infant classroom. Ms. Ashley’s ability to connect with students of all ages and deliver excellence in education is truly remarkable. Her classroom is a haven of patience, love, and nurturing, where she crafts enriching learning experiences for every child. We are incredibly grateful to have Ashley’s passion and expertise as part of our team!”

What age group do you teach?
Infants

What is the name of your classroom?
Green Gables

What do you love most about the age group you teach?
I love watching the children learn and grow while meeting their milestones and knowing that I had a part in helping them to meet their milestones.

What is your favorite curriculum project you’ve ever done in your classroom?
I enjoy making new sensory bags/bottles each month to match the theme. Watching the children play and learn something new is always the best. When I worked in Neverland, I loved the month where we brought stories to life. It was so much fun!

What do you enjoy most about working at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse?
I enjoy the homey feeling and how involved LSP is with their families.

What made you want to become an early childhood educator?
I have wanted to teach and inspire others for as long as I can remember. When I started at LSP, I knew I made the right choice.

Who and/or what inspires you and why?
My mother has always deeply inspired me. She was actually a teacher as well, so now I have the opportunity to follow in her footsteps.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love to read when I’m not busy inspiring the young children in my classroom!

Tell us one special fact about yourself that no one would expect.
I was a Girl Scout and eventually went on to be a Girl Scout leader.

We’d also like to extend congratulations to all of this month’s nominees listed below. Thank you for your continued passion and dedication—you are all a vital part of our Little Sunshine’s family!
