Our Arvada Leadership Team
Hello! My name is Amy, and I am thrilled to be the Program Director at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Arvada. In 2016, I started at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool in Littleton, CO and immediately fell in love with the company. It has been such a joy to grow and learn alongside all the other educators within our school community over the years. What I appreciate most about LSP is the play-based/child-led curriculum, supportive leaders, and the opportunity to work alongside such dedicated and like-minded educators.
In 2016, I received my bachelor’s degree in early childhood education with my teacher’s licensure from the University of Northern Colorado. Since then, I pursued my master’s degree in curriculum development. Furthering my education and growing my experience in the field has been pivotal to the development of both my leadership and teaching philosophies. With that, strong relationships are the foundation of success in all areas of life, whether it be education, professional, or personal. And because of this, I believe social-emotional learning should be the focus in our little one’s early years.
Speaking of little ones, I have a son named Torey who is now a big kindergartener! Together we enjoy spending time outdoors, making crafts, and going on our evening walks! Last year, I also took a year off to start a business of my own! I learned so much about business and team management during that time and cannot wait to apply my knowledge to this role as program director.
Hello! My name is Sara, and I am proud to be the Assistant Director of Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Arvada.
I have been working with young children since I graduated high school in 2016. I used to be a water safety and swim instructor for children and decided to get into early childhood education soon after. I worked in another large center here in Arvada for five years. In my time there, I worked with preschool students, but quickly realized my passion for toddler ages. I was a toddler teacher for two years before ending up pursuing my Director’s Certification and moving to management within that company. Work is my passion and the littles have been my motivation from the beginning.
On a personal note, I am a Colorado native and in my free time enjoy spending time with family and my two dogs, Nelli and Howard. I am an avid reader and will always enjoy a good book recommendation. My favorite children’s books are Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and Go Dog, Go!

What Our Families Are Saying
My one-year-old recently joined the Treasure Island classroom and I am so pleased with our experience thus far. My kiddo has a little bit of separation anxiety but he has warmed up to her teacher pretty quickly and she is absolutely wonderful at sending us all of the app updates and pictures throughout the day. The LuvNotes my husband and I receive really make a huge difference in giving us peace of mind.
We started our little one with Little Sunshine’s during COVID in 2020. She was just 11 weeks and we had SO many fears as new parents, but Director and Assistant Director were so supportive and loving that it made us feel much more at ease (even though I still cried driving away for about a month – hello new mom and hormones!). Our daughter is now 1 year old and in a different classroom, and we’re still just so pleased with Little Sunshine’s. Her teachers ARE THE BEST and they write wonderful LuvNotes that make us smile when we hear how much fun she is having with her friends, what she’s exploring, and if she enjoyed her meals. Our tiny human loves her time there, she’s engaged with all kinds of fun stuff they do in class and it’s clear that she’s growing confidence in her new skills and learning so much every day. We’re so happy to be with Little Sunshine’s and look forward to years to come 🙂
I was heartbroken when I found out my son’s daycare was closing their infant room, but am so thankful that we found Little Sunshine’s Playhouse. We absolutely love it here! The director and assistant director are so friendly, personable, and caring! Most importantly, my son loves going every day! He is never sad and has learned so much already! The teachers are doing a great job. I’m happy to know that he has been able to build strong real with the staff! I also love the daily notes and photos that are sent about their day! I look forward to it every afternoon! As an educator myself, I have really high expectations for child care/school for my children! I would absolutely recommend LSP.
