August 2026 National Teacher of the Month

The Teacher of the Month award is our way of celebrating educators who live out our core values—compassion, humility, integrity, loyalty, and discipline—each and every day. We’re excited to announce that our 2026 August National Teacher of the Month is Ms. Devin from Little Sunshine’s Playhouse of Creve Coeur.

The leadership team at Creve Coeur had such kind words to say in light of this honor: “We are so excited to celebrate Ms. Devin as our Teacher of the Month! Ms. Devin has truly stepped up and shown what it means to be a dependable, caring, and dedicated member of our castle. She comes in each day ready to support her kiddos and her team, takes initiative in her classroom, and continues to grow as an educator and leader.

We especially appreciate the love and patience she shows our littles as they learn, grow, and navigate all those BIG toddler feelings! Her willingness to jump in wherever she is needed and help keep things running smoothly does not go unnoticed. Ms. Devin, thank you for being someone we can count on and for everything you bring to our kiddos, families, and team. We see you, we appreciate you, and we are so lucky to have you at our castle!”

We asked our August 2026 National Teacher of the Month, Ms. Devin from Creve Coeur, a few questions so you could have the opportunity to get to know her better!

What age group do you teach?

I teach in our Infant/Toddler program.

What is the name of your classroom?

I’m a Head Teacher in our Enchanted Forest classroom.

What is your favorite thing about the Reggio invitation to learning?

I love that the environment is used as the third teacher and all of the loose parts and open ended art.

What do you love most about the age group you teach?

I love watching infants and toddlers grow rapidly through active play. Its amazing to see them take a discovery from one day and adapt it to a new activity the next.

What is your favorite curriculum project you’ve ever done in your classroom?

Cute and fun sensory tables and 3D art boards using different recycled materials are my favorite!

What do you enjoy most about working at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse?

Learning from the other teachers has been incredibly valuable. They are always sharing new ideas and helping execute projects and activities.

What made you want to become an early childhood educator?

I really enjoy seeing the kiddos make new discoveries. It is amazing how quickly they can learn a new skill.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I like to find new books to read, seeing live music, and I love a cute coffee shop and finding new restaurants to try.

Tell us one special fact about yourself that no one would expect.

I was a high school tennis coach for 5 years.
