What do you love most about the age group you teach?
I love the conversations, creativity, and imaginations that my students utilize each day. It’s truly inspiring to witness how they bring fresh perspectives and unique ideas to the table, transforming each lesson into a lively and engaging experience. Their ability to think outside the box, ask thoughtful questions, and collaborate with one another is a constant reminder of how boundless creativity can be. Each day, I’m amazed by their innovative thinking and their willingness to explore new concepts, which not only fuels their own growth but enriches the learning environment for everyone involved.
What is your favorite curriculum project you’ve ever done in your classroom?
My favorite activities are the ones that the kids help us create. There’s something incredibly special about watching them take ownership of their learning and contribute their own ideas to shape the experience. When they collaborate with us to design projects, lessons, or challenges, it fosters a sense of excitement and investment that makes the learning process even more meaningful. Their creativity and input often lead to unexpected, fun, and innovative activities that we would never have thought of on our own. It’s a beautiful reminder that the best learning happens when everyone, teacher and student alike, are partners in the process.
What do you enjoy most about working for LSP?
Sharing my creativity and learning new things with other staff and leadership members has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my role. Collaborating with colleagues not only sparks new ideas but also provides opportunities to grow together as a team, as we exchange strategies, insights, and perspectives. The collaborative spirit helps us refine our practices, strengthen our approach to teaching, and ensure that we’re always finding new ways to support our students’ success. Equally important is building strong relationships within our team and with the families in our community. Connecting with both staff and families creates a network of support where we can collectively celebrate achievements, navigate challenges, and work together toward shared goals. These relationships foster a sense of belonging and trust, and they remind me that we are all partners in nurturing the growth and well-being of every student.
What made you want to become an early childhood educator?
All of my life, I have been a caregiver, whether it was looking after family members, friends, or even volunteering in my community. This deep-rooted sense of compassion and responsibility naturally led me to transition into a more hands-on career in Early Childhood Education (ECE). Caring for others has always been second nature to me, and working with young children allows me to extend that care in a way that nurtures their growth and development. Being a teacher allows me to combine my passion for helping others with my love for teaching and guiding young minds. Being able to foster a safe, supportive, and creative environment where children can explore, learn, and grow is truly fulfilling. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that the foundation I help build today will support these children for years to come.
Who and/or what inspires you and why?
I am inspired daily by the little people who I have been entrusted with. Their curiosity, wonder, and boundless energy remind me of the incredible potential each child holds. Every day, they show me the power of resilience, the joy of discovery, and the importance of seeing the world through fresh eyes. Their questions, their creativity, and the way they approach challenges inspire me to be a better educator, caregiver, and person. I’m deeply grateful for the privilege of being a part of their journeys, guiding them as they learn and grow, and witnessing firsthand how they shape the world around them with their unique perspectives. Their trust in me is a constant source of motivation, and it’s truly an honor to be a part of their early experiences.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
When I am not working, some of my favorite activities are reading, painting, exploring the great outdoors, and spending time with my fur baby.
Tell us one special fact about yourself that no one would expect?
