April 2024 National Teacher of the Month
The Teacher of the Month award is designed to recognize an employee that exemplifies our core values, which are compassion, humility, integrity, loyalty, and discipline. This month we are pleased to announce that our 2024 April National Teacher of the Month is Ms. Avery of Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Cumming.
In talking about how Ms. Avery exemplifies LSP’s core values, Assistant Director, Ms. Neha said, “I feel fortunate to work alongside Ms. Avery! She is an exceptional teacher who assists us in the infant classrooms. She demonstrates flexibility, dedication, punctuality, and consistency. I admire her commitment and professionalism. Parents consistently praise her and the care she provides to their little ones. Thank you, Avery, for making our castle a welcoming and nurturing environment for our infant babies.”

What is the name of your classroom?
Emerald City
What do you love most about the age group you teach?
Creating bonds and relationships with not only the kids, but the parents. I love getting to see my students grow and thrive in a caring environment. Seeing how well the babies progress in the infant room warms my heart.
What is your favorite curriculum project you’ve ever done in your classroom?
The holiday crafts we make for the parents is one of my favorite things to do with the babies in the infant room.
What do you enjoy most about working for LSP?
One thing I enjoy most about working at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse is getting to work with the kids and seeing them grow on a daily basis.
What made you want to become an early childhood educator?
Growing up with four siblings, I have always had a passion to help and care for younger children.
Who and/or what inspires you?
My parents inspire me every day. They both work so incredibly hard to provide everything for me and my family. They are both such big role models in my life.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Outside of work, I love going on walks, spending time with my family and friends, watching baseball, etc.
