University City Announces Opening Day
More exciting growth is in store for Little Sunshine’s Playhouse! The University City (8351 Delcrest Drive) school is excited to announce that they will be opening their doors for business the week of July 21st, 2014! They, with the help of the University City Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday, July 11th at 4:30 pm, and the Grand Opening celebration will follow until 7:00 pm. This event will take place at the preschool and tours will be available. There will be food, drinks, games and prizes for children and their families. Other local business will be participating and passing out coupons and free giveaways. Little Sunshine’s Playhouse extends a warm welcome for all to attend!
The school is being brought to the area by franchisees, Michael and Lilly McCown and their daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Andy Carr. Together, Michael and Lilly raised five children, while Andy and Nicole are growing their small family of five, which helped them to develop a deep appreciation for quality early childhood education. That sense of appreciation grew even deeper when Nicole came to work for the Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool Corporate Office in 2008, after earning her Bachelor’s Degree from Missouri State University. She is now the Chief Operating Officer, and during her time with the company, she and her entire family fell in love with the concept, philosophy and standards. Andy and Nicole’s twin daughters and young son are current Little Sunshine’s Playhouse students and have flourished within the program.
According to the family “We just knew we wanted to help bring the same high level of comfort and quality early childhood education that we’ve experienced to other communities and felt that the St. Louis area would be a perfect fit. We are beyond excited to realize our dreams and open the doors to our magical preschool! A huge thank you goes out to the community and the entire Little Sunshine’s Playhouse leadership team for all the support and encouragement along the way!”
